Crispy Pork Belly Recipe
Make Your Own Crispy Pork Belly At Home
The key to making the perfect crispy pork belly is to start with the right ingredients and use the right cooking techniques. We’ll walk you through each step in detail so that you can replicate this delicious dish at home.
You’ll learn how to cook it to crunchy perfection!
Once you have your pork belly, it’s time to get it ready for the heat! Start by cleaning the meat and removing some unwanted hair if there are any.
Next, put the pork belly in a pot and mix the ingredients, starting with the garlic and onions then followed by a good amount of salt, peppercorns, laurel leaves, and water. Cover the pot and slow cook until tender.
After tenderizing the meat, let it sit at room temperature and add salt on pork skin to draw out moisture. This will help ensure that your skin gets as crispy as possible. Pat dry the pork belly with paper towels until completely dry—this is key to achieving a crispy layer of skin once cooked! Tip: it is best to put the pork belly in fridge uncovered overnight.

Tips and Tricks to Achieve the Best Pork Belly
For a perfect crispy pork belly, following a few tips and tricks will help ensure that your dish turns out flawlessly for that special occasion.
Seasoning the Pork Belly
The key to seasoning the pork belly is to apply a generous amount of coarse salt in tenderizing the meat and in the dry out stage. Depending on your taste preference, you can also mix in different spices like garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika or cumin to give it an extra flavor boost. Give the pork belly a good massage with the seasonings to ensure it gets fully coated.
Finishing off in the Air Fryer
For this recipe, we are using Air Fryer instead of traditional deep frying. This is much safer and also makes the pork skin more dried. Set your air fryer at 200°C in 30 minutes. Check the meat from time to time.
Pour Hot Oil on Skin
Another great technique is pouring hot oil on skin after air frying. This will make the pork belly skin more crispy and turn like a popcorn.

This all started from an idea that hit me while preparing a meal for my family. Since I have an experience in the world wide web, and I cook everyday for my family, I thought of why not use my skills and share my passion to everyone.
I live in Quezon City, Metro Manila with my wife and kids. My favorite things in life are extra rice, a glass of Coke with a lot of ice and a quick run on a treadmill.
