Blue Marlin in Lemon Butter Sauce Recipe

Cooking pan grilled blue marlin is an exciting challenge and a delicious reward. To make the perfect pan grilled blue marlin, start by preparing the marlin and the lemon garlic butter sauce. Grill the marlin over medium-high heat, and be sure to cook it through thoroughly. Serve the fish with the lemon garlic butter sauce, mango avocado salad, and an accompaniment of your choice.

Preparing the Pan Grilled Blue Marlin

Cooking pan grilled Blue Marlin is an easy and delicious way to enjoy this type of fish. To begin, take your marlin filets and pat them dry with a paper towel. Next, season them with salt and pepper on both sides.

Now it’s time to fire up the grill! Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once the surface of the pan is hot and a drop of water sizzles when it hits the surface, you’re ready to start cooking.

Add oil to your pan, making sure to coat the entire surface. Then place your fish in the pan and lower the heat slightly (to medium) and cook for 3-4 minutes until they’re golden brown on one side. Flip them over, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until they’re cooked through.

Once you’ve cooked all the filets, set them aside on a plate so that you can begin to prepare your Lemon Garlic Butter Sauce.

What kind of pan should be used for cooking blue marlin?

When it comes to choosing a pan for cooking blue marlin, cast iron is the way to go. Cast iron pans are durable and their heat retention properties create a perfectly seared filet every time.

Do I need to use oil or butter when cooking blue marlin?

Using oil or butter helps the fish to grill up nicely, and it also adds flavor. If you’re grilling with a cast iron pan, opt for a high smoke point oil such as canola or vegetable oil. But if you’re looking for more flavor, butter is a great choice.

How long do I need to cook the blue marlin?

Cooking time depends on the thickness of your filet; generally speaking, it will take about 4 minutes per side for thin fillets, and 6 minutes per side for thicker ones.
